List of suggested read alouds for the week!

Last month, my third graders and I learned about Rosa Parks. I teach in an urban setting and most of my students had no idea who she was or what she did to spark the Civil Right movement. Many school districts are struggling with literacy rates and math proficiency levels and are leaving Social Studies out of the learning schedule. I designed these lessons to fit into this framework so the lessons can be utilized during read aloud or readers' workshop as a mini-lesson. It can also fit into a language study time or during a writer's workshop framework. Please spread the word that this is a FREEBIE!
