Inferring Lesson Before Christmas Break!

Schedules before Christmas break are often unpredictable. We just returned from a week long field trip  to a local museum and are left with two days left before break. Use this lesson during reading workshop or writing workshop to teach/practice inferring with a fun, holiday spirit!

The text, The Night Before the Night Before Christmas, by Natasha Wing (or any other version...), offers many inferring opportunities. We know that inferring is using our own brain and knowledge with what the author writes to help us understand. Students need opportunities to practice this difficult strategy. The lesson includes a scripted lesson plan suggestion with a teacher read aloud/think aloud and 3 Follow-up response activity printables!
